I’ve never been a breakfast person. The only things I want when I get up in the morning are an enormous coffee and my teenage metabolism back. Candywriter seems to want to remind me about that meal which is allegedly the most important one of the day though vis a vis their light-hearted and whimsical take on those Vegas money munchers with the introduction of Breakfast Slots — and I’m a man who can’t say no to bacon.
Breakfast Slots looks like your average 5-reel slot machine on the surface, excepting of course that the reels are plastered with images of coffee, milk, OJ, bacon, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and other morning…

I’ll say one thing, Avalinx don’t take much time off. But why should they? They’ve already got the whole casino card game engine down cold, so all they need to do is swap out the game logic and rules, maybe add a few features here and there for fun, and they’ve got a whole new card game ready for prime time. Thus, hot on the heels of Let ‘em Ride Pro, they’ve just released 3 Card Pro poker to add to their Pro series of casino games.
3 Card Poker is pretty much just like real poker, only smaller, like poker’s little brother. The thing about 3 Card…

I’m ashamed to say that I’m a little too long in getting to this one. Brad Dunnington sent this to me almost two weeks ago and I promised to get to it in a few days. Does 15 days still count as a “few?” I dunno, but in my defense, readers of Flog! (both of you) may have noticed that the last couple of weeks have been a little bit crazy for me for a variety of reasons. Nonetheless I aim to rectify that now with an apology to Brad and a nice round review of Avalinx’s latest professional card game, Let’em Ride PRO.

Long-time Frapstr readers may recall…

Another tap-tap-tap game for you, ala Jirbo Bounce (or whatever they want to call it these days), though this one is at least more entertaining. Your objective: Swat flies. Your weapon: A finger. Sometimes two.
That sums up the basic gameplay, actually. Flies are buzzing around and you need to crush them. As you progress though other, not quite so harmless insects start buzzing around. Bees/wasps/whatever must be avoided because they sting. Butterflies must be picked up though, if you want a little bonus help.
One interesting aspect here is this bit about picking up. You do it pretty much literally: Use your thumb and forefinger to try and actually pick…

App Name: Slots
Version: 1.0
Developer: MyHIP.com
Category: Casino Games
Oh no. Not again again.
Well, look on the bright side. I get the crap out of the way first, then I get to write about better stuff.
So, y’all recall my review a couple of days ago for Aliens! from MyHIP, which I failed to fail because I felt sorry for it, right? And now they’ve gone and released a second freebie. A slot machine this time, so there’s no hiding behind words like “retro” in the hope of fooling people into thinking it was designed badly on purpose.
Guess what? It doesn’t suck as badly Aliens! did — but like FuguBowl below, don’t think that makes it good. Let’s face it: It would be damn hard to screw up a slots…

App Name: THTouch
Developer: Pit Garbe
Category: Board, Dice & Card Games
Price: $0.99
You know, I love seeing games and apps from the jailbreak scene make the crossover to the App Store. Not that I didn’t like getting free stuff — and let’s face it, 99% of apps in the jailbreak scene were free or donationware, with only a small handful of notable exceptions. No, I still love free stuff — you’re currently standing in a shrine to it, for Og’s sake. (With the exception of notable premium apps that I like to post about, like this one.) I like seeing the crossovers happen because I love seeing devs from the jailbreak scene getting some financial love for their hard work, something that was pretty hard to…

App Name: Free Joker’s Wild
Developer: MobilityWare
Category: Games: Casino
Another slot machine, with this one taking the form of a Joker’s Wild theme. There’s really not a whole lot of ground to cover with slot machines, since they’re all pretty much the same with only the themes, payouts and certain features (like number of winning lines) changed. This one has your standard one payout line (middle) and, obviously, a wild card that can match anything. The sounds are acceptable, though they sound very much like a video slot machine rather than a realistic one; a repetitive sound plays while the reels are spinning, and payouts are a series of bleeps rather than cash falling into the payout tray.
Graphically it’s decent, though again nothing to write…

App name: 21 Pro: Blackjack Sponsored
Developer: Avalinx LLC
Category: Games
Now here is a Blackjack game. 21 Pro approaches Blackjack from an almost professional angle, with Vegas rules, dealer tips that teach novice players when they should hit, stand, double down, split or surrender — there’s even a card counting tutor which is sure to be a big hit with casinos all along Vegas strip. A hit with an aluminum bat across your knees, that is, once the pit bosses discover your angle.
Nevertheless, 21 Pro features some pretty snazzy graphics and decent animations supplied by 357am.com, and the gameplay is solid: Split up to 3 times (4 hands), double down, play last bet, full tutorials, tips and tricks on mastering the game, and a plethora of…
