App Name: Divide ToDo Lite
Developer: EnvisiGen
Category: Business
Human nature, like that of electricity, is to take the path of least resistance. Unfortunately for humans, but not for electricity, we’re lazy. We need axioms like “never put off for tomorrow what can be done today” to remind us to get stuff done because, left to our own devices, we’d rather just loaf around expending the least amount of energy required to survive. Part of the reason we tend to procrastinate is that sometimes we look at big tasks we have ahead of us and become discouraged because it seems like an insurmountable problem.
So Divide ToDo tackles the problem of getting you off your butt and doing something about it through the most effective means…

App Name: iDrive Lite
Developer: Pro Softnet Corp
Category: Business
Another contact backup app, though this one works online via a free service that allows you to backup your contacts from the iPhone remotely and restore them at any time with just one tap. No signup is required; the service is completely anonymous and included with the app.
Unfortunately it’s an all-or-nothing proposition, so while it’s useful, you can’t selectively restore specific contacts, which would have been a nice feature.
Despite its “lite” moniker, there doesn’t appear to be a standard or “pro” version for sale, but Pro Softnet do mention the future additions of backing up photos and the ability to share both photos and contacts with other iDrive users, so maybe that stuff will be held…

App Name: ContactClone
Developer: Headlight Software, Inc.
Category: Business
Another contact “beaming” app, but it’s pretty full-featured. Obviously, two or more people need to be running ContactClone on the same local network to be able to share.
The app lets you choose not only whom to share from within your contact list, but also what contact fields you want to share. If you routinely keep more sensitive information in certain fields of your contact list — especially custom fields — then you can configure ContactClone to share that contact, but to exclude fields you’d rather keep private. (This includes pictures, too, so that half-nekkid pic of your wife that you put in her entry? It’s still safe. Unless you want other people to have her half-nekkid pic. …

App Name: Ring It Up P.O.S. Free
Developer: PingySoft
Category: Business
A mobile point-of-sale application. Fill it up with your catalog of products and/or services, then take it with you on the go to ring up sales wherever you are with just a few simple taps. Receipts can be E-Mailed to clients with a simple tap.
This “lite” version doesn’t really have any substance at all, since it won’t save any data when you exit the application, rendering its practical utility next to nil, but it does let you explore its features anyway. The full version will give your wallet a beatdown for $25, but I suppose if you’re in a profession where this sort of application would be of significant benefit, that’s a fair price to ask.

App Name: iCard
Developer: B1TE
Category: Social Networking
Virtual business cards on your iPhone. This is actually a pretty cool app. You can design a card using any image from your image library or camera roll, so you can upload the logo you want from your computer or save from the web, and then put it on the front of the card you have designed. You can enter your the personal information you want on the card, and even create multiple identities or profiles to use, and have that automatically inserted on to the details of the card, making a nice, professional-looking virtual business card.
The real magic happens when you meet someone else with an iPhone and iCard. You can exchange business cards wirelessly (WiFi or…

App Name: iZepto
Developer: Beyond Software
Category: Business
A relatively simple timesheet app that is intended to be a front-end for the web-based iZepto service, for which you will need a (currently) free account. It lets you enter tasks create a timesheet for each one. You can search for tasks and keep notes on each one.
I’m not even remotely organized enough to have any use for this, so I’ll just have to take it on faith that this is at least moderately handy for the segment of the market it is intended for.

App Name: iDicto
Developer: DAVA Consulting
Category: Business
For those of you who find it easier to take voice notes, or who merely want to record either something, be it the melody or lyrics for a song idea, a lecture, or whatever, DAVA have come out with a very impressive voice recorder that they’re offering on promo for free, which is right in my price range.
What’s even better is that iDicto is actually quite a fantastic app, as voice recorders go. It’s feature-rich, configurable, functional, and quite pleasing to look at besides. To start with, you can choose to record in either low quality 8KHz mode, medium quality 22KHz mode (half CD quality) or full CD quality 44.1KHz. Obviously, file sizes increase as quality increases, but…

App Name: iBeam
Developer: Razix Software
Category: Business
It used to be, in the age of phones equipped with IrDA sensors — a breed that is starting to die out — that one could just “beam” things from one device to another. Contacts, pictures, software — you name it. Palm devices were famous for it, but most smartphones dating back pretty well to the very beginning of mobile device convergence were capable. These days, not so much, what with today’s smartphones being more and more tightly integrated with mobile data services giving rise to the ability to just E-Mail things to people or post images to your favourite sharing sites. The obviated need to be in close proximity to someone in order to share stuff with…
