TMSOFT makes some pretty decent stuff, I have to admit — been a fan ever since White Noise. With the release of Audiogasm they’re continuing to branch out and firm up their development chops, and they’re doing well.
Audiogasm is a visualizer for sound. Now before you get too excited, no, Apple haven’t lifted the SDK restrictions on accessing music streams on the iPhone or iPod Touch, so you still can’t use this as a viz for your on-board tunes. (Seriously, Apple, WTF? Let coders tap into the audio flow already, willya? There are now dozens of apps absolutely screaming for it.) What it does do is sample audio from the mic and turns that into eye candy.
And such lovely, psychedellic eye candy it is, too. Audiogasm features numerous different visualization patterns that change periodically to keep things interesting. Some are pretty standard fare but a few of the patterns are really rather cool, and the overall effect is quite mesmerizing, like any good visualizer should be. Faults? I really don’t see any to be quite honest. It’s a visualizer, if an external one, and it does what it does very well.
Audiogasm is only free for a limited period of time as an introductory promo, so you’d best get it while the getting is good so you can get in on all the free updates — which hopefully includes the fateful day when Apple manages to tug another inch of stick from its butt and relaxes some of the SDK’s constraints and lets visualizers listen on the inside as well as out.

I love this app! 5 Stars! I agree I can’t wait for it to work with other apps.
