Developer: ZooZ Mobile Inc.
Category: Utilities
There are a number of remote PC controllers available on the App Store now; apps to control your entire PC or just specific parts of it, like keyboard and mouse. I think this may be the first game controller I’ve seen though.
ZooZ Control Lite essentially emulates a wireless joystick, using the accelerometer for analog stick positioning, plus virtual areas for POV hat, X and Y sliders, and 6 buttons. You need to download the ZooZ Host in order for it to work, but connectivity is a breeze; ZooZ Control will tell you what IP to connect to when you launch it, and all you have to is click the connect button in ZooZ Host and plug in that IP address. ZooZ Control will play a little ding when you’re connected.
In testing it I found that the latency was very low – more than good enough for fast action games, which was a nice surprise. It supports gaming profiles, seletable through the host, and can change button labels according to the profile being used. Profiles can be manually set or auto-detected.
Unfortunately, this being a lite version and all, there are only 2 built-in profiles supported: Flight Simulator X, and Need for Speed: ProStreet. (I have neither game, so I simply tested with the control panel applet.) You could certianly use this for anything else if you wanted to — it just triggers standard controller buttons, you’ll just have to ignore the labels.
The Pro version, which isn’t out yet, will support unlimited gaming profiles and feature a profile editor. No word on pricing yet though. I have to say that this is a most excellent app, but I’d really like to see the ability to customize the layout, too, plus the ability to swap the accelerometer for the POV hat for those that would prefer to use the hat like a joystick and the accelerometer for looking around instead. The ability to arbitrarily add more buttons (screen space permitting) would be nice, too.
Overall, very nice virtual game pad here. In case you’re interested, I’ve included one of the videos that show Controller in action:

Very nice
I can not figure out how to set this up to simple keyboard functions on zoozcontrol pro - accelerate [w key] brake [s key] e brake [space] and nitro [shift].. can anybody help
As far as I know it only emulates an actual game controller, not keyboard functions, so I don’t think it’s possible — at least, not with this particular version. I haven’t tried anything more recent, if indeed there is anything more recent to try, so I can’t tell you if the functionality has been added.
Where to play the game
please i need your wisdom
are you using a ipod touch or iphone and does the game only work if its a iphone
I used an iPhone. It does not contain the game, you have to connect through the Zooz Control server and load up whatever game you want and set it up for joystick control before it will work.

I’m sorry, but I’m quite busy around here — with the blog and other projects.
For instructions on using ZooZ Control, there’s instructions for setup here:

As for the games … well, you’d have to buy them or download demos or something.
